Instructions

  1. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set aside.
  2. In a stand mixer or large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and light brown sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and beat until fully incorporated. Scrape down the bowl as needed.
  4. Add green food coloring, mixing until you reach a vibrant shade just darker than your desired final color.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and baking powder until evenly combined.
  6. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just combined. Avoid over-mixing.
  7. Chop the Oreo cookies and Chips Ahoy cookies into rough chunks, about 1/2-inch pieces.
  8. Fold the chopped cookies and semi-sweet chocolate chips into the dough with a spatula, ensuring even distribution.
  9. Chill the dough in the refrigerator for 30 minutes to firm up. Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  10. Scoop the dough into 2-tablespoon portions and arrange on the prepared baking sheets, leaving 2 inches between cookies.
  11. Bake in the preheated oven for 11-13 minutes, just until the edges are set and centers appear slightly under-baked.
  12. Immediately upon removing from the oven, press candy eyes or white chocolate chips into the tops of each cookie to create monster faces.
  13. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  14. Arrange cookies on a platter for serving. For extra effect, use edible black gel icing to add Frankenstein smiles or scars.
