Crisp Apple Cider Fizz

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 640 ml apple cider chilled
  • 30 ml lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 20 ml maple syrup
  • 1 g ground cinnamon
  • 400 g ice cubes
  • 120 g apple thinly sliced
  • 400 ml sparkling water chilled
  • 4 piece cinnamon stick for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a measuring jug, stir together 640 ml apple cider, 30 ml lemon juice, 20 ml maple syrup, and 1 g ground cinnamon until the cinnamon is evenly dispersed. The liquid looks evenly tinted and no dry cinnamon clumps remain.
  2. Divide 400 g ice between 4 glasses, about 100 g per glass, then add 30 g apple slices to each glass. Each glass is filled about halfway with ice and has visible apple slices along the side.
  3. Pour 172.5 ml of the cider mixture into each glass, then top each with 100 ml sparkling water. Add the sparkling water last so the drink stays fizzy. The surface is lively with bubbles and the glasses are full but not overflowing.
  4. Stir each glass once or twice to combine, then garnish each serving with 1 cinnamon stick. The drink is cold, lightly spiced, and ready to serve immediately.
