  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 tbsp vanilla
  • 150 grams vegetable shortening
  • 150 grams all purpose flour
  • 150 grams powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp vanilla

Instructions

  1. Prepare the yeast mixture by combining warm whole milk, instant yeast, and sugar. Cover and allow to activate for 10-20 minutes.

  6. Add gel food coloring little by little to the sugar paste until you reach your desired color.
  7. Shape the conchas and brush them with melted butter to ensure the paste sticks.
  8. Cover the conchas with plastic wrap and allow them to rise for an additional 30-40 minutes.
  9. Bake the conchas at 350F for 20-25 minutes.
