Maple Ginger Cocktail

A two-serving cocktail built by shaking bourbon, lemon juice, and maple syrup with ice, then topping with ginger beer for a bright, autumn-leaning drink. The result is lightly sweet, citrusy, and warming, with a lively carbonation from the ginger beer.

Maple Ginger Cocktail

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 120 ml bourbon chilled if possible
  • 30 ml fresh lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 30 ml maple syrup none
  • 200 g ice for shaking and serving
  • 100 g ice for shaking and serving
  • 240 ml ginger beer well chilled
  • 2 piece lemon peel or twist for garnish

Instructions

  1. Add the bourbon, lemon juice, and maple syrup to a cocktail shaker. Add about 200 g of the ice. The shaker is filled and ready to shake; the maple syrup is fully combined with the liquid.
  2. Shake hard for 10 to 15 seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and slightly frosted. The mixture is thoroughly chilled and aerated.
  3. Strain evenly into 2 ice-filled glasses, dividing the remaining 100 g ice between them if needed. Each glass has a chilled base and about half the cocktail mixture.
  4. Top each glass with 120 ml ginger beer, pouring slowly to preserve the carbonation. The drink is fizzy and the color is evenly diluted to a bright amber-gold.
  5. Garnish with lemon twist if using, and serve immediately. The drink is cold, sparkling, and ready to drink.
