Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding with Maple Cream Sauce

Cook time: 40 minutes

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 5 pieces cinnamon rolls cut into cubes
  • 4 large egg
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 0.25 tsp nutmeg
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup raisins
  • 0.5 cup pecans chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0 pinch salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the cubed cinnamon rolls, eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
  3. If using, stir in the raisins or chopped pecans.
  4. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, ensuring the cinnamon roll pieces are well coated.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
  6. In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, maple syrup, butter, vanilla extract, and salt to prepare the sauce. Stir until the mixture is smooth and warmed through.
  7. Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
  8. Cut the bread pudding into squares and serve warm drizzled with the maple cream sauce. Optionally, you can top it with whipped cream for an extra treat!
