Ingredients
- 5 pieces cinnamon rolls cut into cubes
- 4 large egg
- 2 cups whole milk
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 0.75 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.25 tsp nutmeg
- 0.25 tsp salt
- 0.5 cup raisins
- 0.5 cup pecans chopped
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 0.5 cup maple syrup
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 0 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed cinnamon rolls, eggs, whole milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
- If using, stir in the raisins or chopped pecans.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, ensuring the cinnamon roll pieces are well coated.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set. Remove from the oven and let it cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
- In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine the heavy cream, maple syrup, butter, vanilla extract, and salt to prepare the sauce. Stir until the mixture is smooth and warmed through.
- Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then remove from heat. The sauce will thicken slightly as it cools.
- Cut the bread pudding into squares and serve warm drizzled with the maple cream sauce. Optionally, you can top it with whipped cream for an extra treat!
