Honey Garlic Chicken

Ingredients
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 whole onion
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 0.25 cup green onions
- 300 g chicken breast
- 0.5 tsp salt and pepper
- 1 tsp paprika and chili powder
- 1.5 cup cooked rice
- 1 tsp corn starch
- 0.25 cup water
- 0.25 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp any sweetener
- 0.33 cup frozen peas
- 0 optional green onions
- 0 optional sesame seeds
- 0 optional chili flakes
Instructions
- Heat 1 tsp of sesame oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add 1 chopped onion to the pan and sauté until translucent.
- Add 1 tbsp of minced garlic and 1/4 cup of green onions to the pan and sauté until fragrant.
- Add 300g of cubed chicken breast to the pan. Season with 1/2 tsp of salt and pepper and 1 tsp of paprika and chili powder. Cook until the chicken is no longer pink.
- Add 1 & 1/2 cup of cooked rice to the pan and mix well.
- In a separate bowl, mix 1 tsp of corn starch with 1/4 cup of water. Add this mixture to the pan if you want your dish to be thicker and saucier.
- Add 1/4 cup of low sodium soy sauce, 1 tbsp of honey, and 1 tbsp of any sweetener (like stevia brown sugar) to the pan. Mix well.
- Add 1/3 cup of frozen peas to the pan and mix well. Cook until the peas are heated through.
- Serve the dish hot, garnished with optional toppings like additional green onions, sesame seeds, and chili flakes.
