Ingredients
- 1 lb breakfast sausage
- 1 tbsp butter
- 6 large eggs
- 1 splash heavy whipping cream
- 0.5 cup mayonnaise
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tsp steak sauce
- 1 tsp dried dill
- 1 to taste salt
- 1 to taste ground black pepper
- 1 pack Hawaiian rolls
- 1 layer breakfast sauce
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 2 tbsp chives
- 2 tbsp butter
- 0.5 tsp garlic powder
- 1 for dipping breakfast sauce
Instructions
- Press sausage into one large rectangle on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, then blot grease and cut into squares.
- Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Whisk eggs with a splash of cream, then gently push them around the pan until soft and glossy. Remove from heat.
- In a small bowl, whisk together all breakfast sauce ingredients. Chill until ready to use.
- Slice rolls in half (keeping them connected). Place bottoms in a greased baking dish and spread a layer of sauce.
- Layer sausage, eggs, cheese, and chives. Add the top rolls.
- Brush with melted butter + garlic powder. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more until golden and melty.
- Slice and serve warm with extra sauce for dipping — and of course, a hot cup of @communitycoffee !
