Sausage, Egg & Cheese Sliders With Breakfast Sauce

Cook time: 45 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 splash heavy whipping cream
  • 0.5 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp steak sauce
  • 1 tsp dried dill
  • 1 to taste salt
  • 1 to taste ground black pepper
  • 1 pack Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 layer breakfast sauce
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 2 tbsp chives
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 0.5 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 for dipping breakfast sauce

Instructions

  1. Press sausage into one large rectangle on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Bake at 375°F for 12–15 minutes, then blot grease and cut into squares.
  2. Melt butter in a skillet over low heat. Whisk eggs with a splash of cream, then gently push them around the pan until soft and glossy. Remove from heat.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together all breakfast sauce ingredients. Chill until ready to use.
  4. Slice rolls in half (keeping them connected). Place bottoms in a greased baking dish and spread a layer of sauce.
  5. Layer sausage, eggs, cheese, and chives. Add the top rolls.
  6. Brush with melted butter + garlic powder. Cover with foil and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake 5 more until golden and melty.
  7. Slice and serve warm with extra sauce for dipping — and of course, a hot cup of @communitycoffee !
