Elderflower Citrus Sparkler

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 180 g ice for serving
  • 45 ml elderflower syrup chilled if possible
  • 30 ml fresh lemon juice strained
  • 30 ml fresh orange juice strained
  • 240 ml sparkling water well chilled
  • 1 piece lemon thinly sliced for garnish
  • 1 piece orange thinly sliced for garnish

Instructions

  1. Divide the ice between 2 tall glasses. Each glass is about two-thirds full of ice.
  2. In a small pitcher or mixing glass, combine the elderflower syrup, lemon juice, and orange juice. The mixture looks evenly blended.
  3. Pour the citrus-syrup mixture evenly over the ice in both glasses. Each glass has an equal share of the base mixture.
  4. Top each glass with sparkling water, dividing it evenly, then stir once or twice gently. The drink is uniformly pale and still visibly fizzy.
  5. Garnish each glass with lemon and orange slices. The citrus slices are floating or resting on the rim without sinking.
