Salvadoran Chicken Sandwiches
A traditional Salvadoran recipe for chicken sandwiches, perfect for family reunions and special occasions. This recipe uses a quick and easy method, ideal for those who prefer not to chop a whole cabbage.

Ingredients
- 1 whole Rotisserie chicken
- 2 tbsp Butter
- 1 bag Shredded cabbage and carrots
- 1 tbsp Butter
- 1 to taste Salt
- 1 to taste Pepper
- 1 tsp Chicken bouillon
- 1 pouch Naturas Ranchera sauce
- 0.5 cup Water
- 1 to taste Mayonnaise
- 1 to taste Mustard
Instructions
- Shred the rotisserie chicken and remove bones, skin and ligaments.
- In a hot saucepan add 2 tbsp of butter and saute the shredded cabbage and carrots until translucent. Set to the side and let it cool.
- In the same pan, add 1 tbsp of butter and saute the chicken. Season with salt, pepper and 1 tsp of chicken bouillon.
- Add 1 pouch of Naturas ranchera sauce and 1/2 cup of water to the chicken. Incorporate well, cover the saucepan and let it stew for 10 minutes on low-medium heat. Once it's done, set to the side and let it cool completely.
- Once fully cooled, in the same bowl add the chicken, cabbage, mayo and mustard. Mix well and adjust the salt to your preference.
- Assemble the sandwiches. This batch was enough for 12-18 sandwiches, depending on how much filling is added to each one.
