This Thanksgiving spritzer combines tart cranberry juice, bright orange juice, and sparkling water over ice for a light, festive drink that cuts through rich holiday food. Fresh cranberries and orange slices add aroma and color without complicating the method.

Cranberry Orange Spritzer

Servings: 8

Ingredients

  • 720 ml 100% cranberry juice chilled
  • 360 ml orange juice chilled
  • 500 g ice for serving
  • 960 ml soda water chilled
  • 300 g ice for serving
  • 1 each orange thinly sliced
  • 80 g fresh cranberries for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a 2.5-liter or larger pitcher, combine the cranberry juice and orange juice. Stir briefly to blend. The liquid looks evenly pink-orange with no separate layers.
  2. Add most of the ice to the pitcher, reserving a handful for the glasses if desired. Stir once more to chill the mixture. The pitcher feels very cold and the mixture is lightly diluted.
  3. Just before serving, stir in the soda water gently so the drink stays fizzy. The surface is bubbly and the drink is fully chilled.
  4. Divide the remaining ice among 8 glasses. Pour the spritzer evenly into the glasses and garnish each with orange slices and a few cranberries. Each glass is cold, bubbly, and visibly garnished.
