Maple Pecan Tart with Sea Salt

Ingredients

  • 1.25 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup butter cold, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons ice water 2-4 tablespoons as needed
  • 0.75 cup maple syrup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 3 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups pecans chopped
  • 0 flaky sea salt for garnish

Instructions

  1. Mix flour and cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water, one tablespoon at a time, until dough comes together. Roll out the dough and press into a tart pan. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  3. In a bowl, whisk together maple syrup, brown sugar, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract until smooth. Stir in chopped pecans.
  4. Pour the filling into the chilled crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes or until the filling is set.
  5. Once the tart is baked, remove from oven and let cool slightly before sprinkling with flaky sea salt.
