The Famous 1905 Salad
The famous 1905 Salad from Columbia Restaurant with a personal touch of sweetness and red onion.

Ingredients
- 0.5 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar
- 2 teaspoons dry oregano
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 0.5 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 0 salt
- 0 pepper
- 0.5 head iceberg lettuce
- 0.5 cup julienned ham
- 0.5 cup julienned Swiss cheese
- 2 Roma tomatoes
- 0 red onion
- 0.5 cup drained Spanish olives
- 0 Pecorino Romano cheese
- 0.5 lemon lemon juice
- 0 dressing
Instructions
- In a bowl, add 1/2 cup of extra virgin olive oil for the dressing.
- Add 2 tablespoons of white wine vinegar to the bowl.
- Add 2 teaspoons of dry oregano to the bowl.
- Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to the bowl.
- Add 1/2 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the bowl.
- Add 1 teaspoon of sugar to the bowl.
- Add salt and pepper to taste to the bowl.
- In another bowl, layer 1/2 head of iceberg lettuce for the salad.
- Add 1/2 cup of julienned ham to the salad bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of julienned Swiss cheese to the salad bowl.
- Add 2 Roma tomatoes to the salad bowl.
- Add red onion to the salad bowl.
- Add 1/2 cup of drained Spanish olives to the salad bowl.
- Add a very generous layer of Pecorino Romano cheese to the salad bowl.
- Right before serving, add the juice from 1/2 of a lemon to the salad bowl.
- Add your dressing to the salad bowl. Don’t add it all in, just a little at a time until it’s dressed to your preference.
- Toss the salad, and serve right away.
