Ingredients
- 0 Butter
- 5 medium Apples
- 2.5 tbsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2 tbsp Brown Sugar
- 0.5 tsp Cinnamon
- 1 tsp Lemon Juice
- 0.25 cup Maple Syrup
- 0.75 cup All-Purpose Flour
- 0.75 cup Oats
- 0.75 cup Brown Sugar
- 0.25 tsp Baking Powder
- 0.5 tsp Cinnamon
- 0 Salt
- 8 tbsp Unsalted Butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and generously butter the inside of an 8x8 glass pan.
- In a large bowl, mix the peeled and sliced or cubed apples with flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice.
- Pour the maple syrup over the apple mixture and toss until the apples are sticky and well-coated.
- Spread the apple mixture evenly in the prepared glass pan.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry mix and use your fingers to rub it in until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Pile the topping evenly over the apple mixture in the glass pan.
- Bake in the oven for 40–50 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling along the edges.
