Ingredients
- 170 g Salted butter, melted
- 200 g Brown sugar
- 60 g Maple syrup
- 50 g Egg
- 18 g Egg yolk
- 8 g Vanilla extract
- 155 g Flour
- 3 g Cinnamon
- 3 g Salt
- 180 g Apple, diced
- 60 grams Powdered sugar
- 15 grams Maple syrup
- 15 grams Milk
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until glossy and smooth.
- Add in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Whisk for 1–2 minutes until the mixture slightly thickens and lightens.
- Add flour, cinnamon, and salt. Fold gently until just combined, the batter will be thick and glossy.
- Fold in diced apples.
- Spread batter evenly into the pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the edges are set and golden but the center looks slightly underbaked — it will firm as it cools.
- Cool completely in the pan before slicing for clean, fudgy bars.
- Prepare the Maple Glaze by combining powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk.
