Maple Apple Blondies

Cook time: 40 minutes

Servings: 16

Ingredients

  • 170 g Salted butter, melted
  • 200 g Brown sugar
  • 60 g Maple syrup
  • 50 g Egg
  • 18 g Egg yolk
  • 8 g Vanilla extract
  • 155 g Flour
  • 3 g Cinnamon
  • 3 g Salt
  • 180 g Apple, diced
  • 60 grams Powdered sugar
  • 15 grams Maple syrup
  • 15 grams Milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8x8-inch square pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and maple syrup until glossy and smooth.
  3. Add in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Whisk for 1–2 minutes until the mixture slightly thickens and lightens.
  4. Add flour, cinnamon, and salt. Fold gently until just combined, the batter will be thick and glossy.
  5. Fold in diced apples.
  6. Spread batter evenly into the pan, smoothing the top.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, until the edges are set and golden but the center looks slightly underbaked — it will firm as it cools.
  8. Cool completely in the pan before slicing for clean, fudgy bars.
  9. Prepare the Maple Glaze by combining powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk.
