Spiced Pomegranate Fizz

This chilled, nonalcoholic drink layers pomegranate juice and lime juice, then tops them with ginger ale for a lively fizz. A small amount of simple syrup rounds the tart edges if needed, while mint and pomegranate seeds add aroma and texture.

Spiced Pomegranate Fizz

Servings: 2

Ingredients

  • 240 g ice for serving
  • 360 ml pomegranate juice chilled
  • 30 ml lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 15 ml simple syrup optional, chilled
  • 240 ml ginger ale chilled
  • 30 g pomegranate seeds for garnish
  • 4 g mint leaves lightly slapped for garnish

Instructions

  1. Divide the ice between 2 tall glasses. Each glass is about half full with ice.
  2. In a measuring cup, combine the pomegranate juice, lime juice, and simple syrup if using. Stir 10 to 15 seconds to dissolve the syrup. The mixture looks uniform and tastes balanced between tart and sweet.
  3. Pour the juice mixture evenly over the ice, then top each glass with ginger ale, pouring slowly to preserve the bubbles. The drink foams lightly at the top and the surface stays fizzy.
  4. Add the pomegranate seeds and mint leaves to each glass and serve immediately. The garnish floats on top and the drink is visibly sparkling.
