Basil & Scallion Oil Noodles
A simple, ten minute bowl of noodles that is fresh, vibrant, and bursting with an intensity of herby flavors.

Ingredients
- 1 packet noodles
- 0.5 cup basil leaves
- 0.25 cup scallions
- 1 handful cilantro
- 2.5 tbsp minced ginger
- 4 cloves minced garlic
- 3 tsp gochugaru or chilli flakes
- 3 tsp sesame seeds
- 2 tbsp neutral-flavoured oil
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
- 1.5 tbsp light soy sauce
- 1.5 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 whole lemon
- 1 handful basil
- 1 handful scallions
Instructions
- Cook noodles of choice according to packet instructions.
- To a heatproof bowl, add finely-chopped basil leaves, finely-chopped scallions, cilantro, minced ginger, minced garlic, gochugaru or chilli flakes, and sesame seeds. Adjust according to taste.
- Heat 2 tbsp of neutral-flavoured oil and 2 tbsp of sesame oil.
- Pour the heated oil over the herby mixture in the heatproof bowl.
- Add light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, and the juice of a lemon to the mixture.
- Toss the cooked noodles into the mixture, mixing well to combine.
- Garnish with more chopped basil and scallions.
