Ingredients
- 1 sheet parchment paper
- 16 oz breakfast pork and sage sausage pork
- 0.5 cup sharp cheddar cheese freshly grated
- 0.5 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 egg for mixing
- 1 tbsp fresh thyme
- 17.3 oz puff pastry 2 pack box
- 2 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 0 egg wash 1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp of water
- 2 tbsp everything but the bagel seasoning
- 0 Nature Nate's hot honey for drizzling
- 0 extra thyme for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the breakfast pork and sage sausage, grated cheddar cheese, panko breadcrumbs, one egg, and fresh thyme. Mix until evenly combined.
- Unroll the puff pastry on a floured surface. Roll out slightly to create a large rectangle and cut each sheet in half to form two long strips, for a total of four strips.
- Divide the sausage mixture into four parts and shape each into a long log. Place each log in the center of the pastry strips.
- Brush one side of each pastry strip with Dijon mustard, then brush the other side with the egg wash. Roll the pastry around the sausage, letting the egg wash act as a seal.
- Once rolled, score small slits into the top with a paring knife, then cut them into 1 ½-inch pieces. Place seam-side down on the baking sheet.
- Brush with remaining egg wash and sprinkle with everything but the bagel seasoning. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- To serve, let the sausage rolls cool slightly, then drizzle with Nature Nate’s Hot honey and sprinkle with extra thyme. Serve warm.
