Japanese Strawberry and Cream Milk Bread Sandwich

Cook time: 30 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 cup whipped cream very cold
  • 0.25 cup sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup cream cheese room temperature
  • 0.5 cup Miracle Whip mayonnaise substitute
  • 8 slices Wonder Bread
  • 16 ounces strawberries stemmed and halved

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine the whipped cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix on high speed until you achieve stiff peaks, about 8 minutes.
  2. Transfer the whipped cream mixture into a separate bowl and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.
  3. Wipe the bowl of the stand mixer clean. Whip the cream cheese and Miracle Whip on high until the mixture is soft, light, and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Working in batches, fold the chilled whipped cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
  5. Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across all slices of bread, working from the edges inward.
  6. Place the strawberries diagonally on top of four slices of bread. Top each with another slice, cream side down.
  7. Carefully cut off the crusts from each sandwich. Wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap and chill for about 15 minutes.
  8. Slice each sandwich in half diagonally, slicing through the strawberries to reveal the pattern. Serve immediately.
