Japanese Strawberry and Cream Milk Bread Sandwich
A delightful fruit sandwich featuring the softest milk bread, pillowy whipped cream, and perfectly ripe strawberries. Inspired by Japan’s incredible creation, it’s a high-reward, simple delight.
Cook time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 1 cup whipped cream very cold
- 0.25 cup sugar
- 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 0.5 cup cream cheese room temperature
- 0.5 cup Miracle Whip mayonnaise substitute
- 8 slices Wonder Bread
- 16 ounces strawberries stemmed and halved
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment, combine the whipped cream, sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix on high speed until you achieve stiff peaks, about 8 minutes.
- Transfer the whipped cream mixture into a separate bowl and place in the fridge for 20 minutes.
- Wipe the bowl of the stand mixer clean. Whip the cream cheese and Miracle Whip on high until the mixture is soft, light, and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
- Working in batches, fold the chilled whipped cream mixture into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
- Carefully spread the cream cheese mixture evenly across all slices of bread, working from the edges inward.
- Place the strawberries diagonally on top of four slices of bread. Top each with another slice, cream side down.
- Carefully cut off the crusts from each sandwich. Wrap each sandwich in plastic wrap and chill for about 15 minutes.
- Slice each sandwich in half diagonally, slicing through the strawberries to reveal the pattern. Serve immediately.
