Gingerbread Overnight French Toast

Gingerbread Overnight French Toast

Cook time: 30 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 3 pieces large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.125 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.125 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0 pinch salt
  • 1 loaf brioche bread

Instructions

  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a bowl (besides the bread).
  2. Whisk to combine
  3. Grease a medium sized oven safe dish and add the bread.
  4. Pour the French toast mixture over the bread, making sure to coat each piece.
  5. Optional: Cover with aluminum foil and store in the fridge overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  7. If you stored in the fridge overnight, carefully spoon any pooled liquid at the bottom of the pan over the top of the bread, redistributing it.
  8. If you stored overnight, set the pan on the counter while the oven preheats.
  9. Overnight cooking time: 30-35 minutes. Immediate cooking time: 20-25 minutes.
  10. Remove and serve immediately!
