Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls

Inspired by the classic Southern style sausage balls, this version doesn’t require any boxed mixes and packs all the flavors you love from a cheddar bay biscuit.

Cheddar Bay Sausage Balls

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 0 cranberry BBQ sauce
  • 0 garlic aioli

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground sausage, shredded cheddar cheese, and almond flour.
  3. Add the baking powder, garlic powder, onion powder, and dried parsley to the mixture.
  4. Mix all the ingredients together until well combined and the mixture is uniform.
  5. Using your hands, form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  6. Place the sausage balls onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving.
  9. Serve the sausage balls with cranberry BBQ sauce or garlic aioli for dipping.
