Servings: 16

Ingredients

  • 1.75 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.75 teaspoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 0.75 cups salted butter
  • 0.75 cups brown sugar
  • 0.75 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.5 teaspoons peppermint extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 as needed green food coloring
  • 0.25 cups crushed Andes Peppermint Crunch or candy canes
  • 0.25 cups white chocolate chips
  • 0.25 cups Christmas sprinkles
  • 1 as needed heart sprinkles
  • 1 as needed extra Christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease and line a 9-inch square pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and kosher salt.
  3. In a large bowl, beat the softened salted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Mix in the vanilla extract, peppermint extract, and eggs one at a time until well combined.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.
  6. Tint the batter with green food coloring until you achieve the desired Grinchy shade.
  7. Fold in the crushed Andes Peppermint Crunch or candy canes, white chocolate chips, and Christmas sprinkles.
  8. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan. Top with heart sprinkles and extra Christmas sprinkles.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 26–28 minutes, until the edges are golden and the center looks set.
  10. Cool completely in the pan, then chill for 1 hour for fudgier bars. Slice into squares and serve at room temperature.
