French Toast Casserole With Cream Cheese Icing

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf brioche bread loaf
  • 6 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 0.5 cup half-and-half
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 16 oz softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp almond extract
  • 0 blueberries
  • 0 strawberries
  • 0 powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Cut the brioche bread loaf into cubes.
  3. Combine eggs, whole milk, granulated sugar, cinnamon, half-and-half, and salt in a bowl and mix together.
  4. In a 13x9 inch pan, add the cubed brioche bread to the bottom of the pan, then pour the egg mixture over the bread.
  5. Melt 4 tablespoons of butter and combine with 1/4 cup of brown sugar, then layer this mixture on top of the casserole.
  6. Bake the casserole in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes.
  7. While the casserole is baking, make the cream cheese icing by combining softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, milk, vanilla extract, and almond extract until it has a creamy consistency.
  8. When the casserole is finished baking, let it cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, add the cream cheese icing on top of the casserole.
  10. Top the casserole with fresh blueberries, strawberries, and a dusting of powdered sugar before serving.
