Banana Bread Brownies

Cook time: 35 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 medium bananas
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 0.75 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.33 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 0.33 cup dark chocolate chips
  • 0.75 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, mashed bananas, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. Add the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix gently until just combined. Don’t over mix.
  5. Fold in dark chocolate chips if using.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 25-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled brownies. Optionally, add mini chocolate chips and sliced bananas on top. Enjoy!
