Caramelized Onion And Goat Cheese Tart

Ingredients

  • 3 large yellow onions
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 5 ounces goat cheese
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Thinly slice 3 large yellow onions.
  3. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat and add the onions.
  4. Cook onions for 35-40 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are a deep golden brown.
  5. Roll out 1 sheet of puff pastry and fit it into a tart pan.
  6. Prick the pastry all over with a fork to prevent bubbling.
  7. Spread caramelized onions evenly over the pastry base.
  8. Crumble 5 ounces of goat cheese over the onions.
  9. Sprinkle with 1 teaspoon of fresh thyme leaves.
  10. Bake the tart for 25 minutes until the pastry is golden and the cheese is slightly browned.
