Spicy Tuna and Avocado Tostadas

Cook time: 10 minutes

Servings: 6

Ingredients

  • 2 medium garlic cloves finely grated
  • 1 serrano chile finely diced
  • 1 lime juiced, about 2 tablespoons
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.33 cup cilantro leaves and tender stems packed
  • 1 large Hass avocado chopped
  • 0.5 small red onion diced
  • 1 medium tomato diced
  • 10 ounces canned tuna packed in oil, drained
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 6 tostada shells for serving
  • 0 hot sauce for serving, optional

Instructions

  1. Mix together the garlic, serrano, lime juice, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl until well combined. This will form your dressing; set aside.
  2. Roughly chop the cilantro, chop the avocado, dice the red onion and tomato, and place everything in the bowl with the dressing. Add the drained tuna and additional salt. Toss until combined.
  3. When ready to eat, divide the filling among the tostada shells. Each shell should have a generous 1/2 cup of the tuna salad. Top with hot sauce if desired.
