Loaded Winter Chili
A delicious and comforting chili packed with flavor from bacon and ground beef, perfect for chilly nights or cook-offs.

Ingredients
- 5 strips Bacon chopped
- 1 large Yellow Onion diced
- 1 whole Red Bell Pepper diced
- 3 cloves Garlic minced
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
- 1 tablespoon Chili Powder classic or ancho
- 1 tablespoon Ancho Chili Powder
- 1.5 teaspoons Smoked Paprika
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 0.75 teaspoons Black Pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon Salt
- 0.125 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
- 1.25 cups Beef Broth
- 15 oz Dark Red Kidney Beans lightly rinsed and drained
- 15 oz Black Beans lightly rinsed and drained
- 14.5 oz Fire Roasted Tomatoes undrained
- 7 oz Fire Roasted Green Chilis
- 0.25 cup Tomato Paste
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
- 0 Sour Cream
- 0 Cheddar Cheese shredded
- 0 Corn Chips
Instructions
- Place chopped bacon in a large pot or Dutch oven and cook over medium heat until crisp and cooked through. Remove bacon to a paper towel lined plate and drain all but 1 ½ tablespoons of grease.
- Add onion and red bell pepper to the bacon grease and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic to the pot and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Add ground beef to the pot, breaking it apart with a spatula as it cooks. Once meat is partially browned, add brown sugar and all spices. Stir well.
- Add all remaining ingredients including beef broth, beans, tomatoes, tomato paste, green chilis, Worcestershire sauce, and the cooked bacon. Stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Serve hot with preferred toppings such as sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, and corn chips.
