Sticky Sesame Chicken Wings

Cook time: 35 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet foil
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 pounds chicken wingettes or chicken wings
  • 1 clove large garlic clove
  • 1 teaspoon coarse or kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
  • 2 tablespoons mild honey
  • 1 teaspoon Asian sesame oil
  • 1 pinch cayenne or Sriracha
  • 1.5 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 scallion scallion

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Line a large shallow baking pan with foil and lightly oil it.
  3. In a large bowl, stir together the chicken wings with minced garlic, salt, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, honey, sesame oil, and cayenne or Sriracha until the wings are well coated.
  4. Spread the wings and any sauce that fell to the bottom of the bowl out on the prepared baking pan in one layer.
  5. Roast the wings in the preheated oven, turning over once, until cooked through, about 35 minutes.
  6. Transfer the cooked wingettes to a large serving bowl.
  7. Toss the wings with sesame seeds and finely chopped scallion.
  8. If there is a puddle of sauce in the bottom of your baking pan, pour the extra sauce into a saucepan and reduce it until thick.
  9. Stir the reduced sauce over the roasted wings before adding the sesame seeds and scallion.
