Crispy Tuna Rice Bites
Deliciously crispy rice squares topped with spicy tuna and avocado, perfect for appetizers or snacks.

Ingredients
- 3 cups sushi rice
- 3 cups water as needed for cooking rice
- 2 TBSP rice vinegar
- 2 TBSP maple syrup
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 pound sushi grade tuna
- 0.33 cup mayonnaise
- 2 TBSP sriracha
- 0 neutral oil enough to fill the pan about ½ inch
- 1 avocado
- 1 jalapeno
- 0 soy sauce for dipping
Instructions
- Cook the sushi rice according to the package instructions.
- Once the rice is cooked, stir in rice vinegar, maple syrup, and salt.
- Line an 8x8 baking pan with plastic wrap and spread the rice evenly. Flatten with a spatula.
- Freeze the rice for at least 8 hours or overnight until completely hard.
- Cut sushi-grade tuna into small cubes and mix with mayonnaise and sriracha.
- Remove the rice from the freezer and cut into squares.
- Pour neutral oil into a pan to a depth of about ½ inch and heat it up.
- Carefully fry the rice squares until golden brown on each side and drain on paper towels.
- Thinly slice avocado and jalapeno.
- Top each fried rice square with a slice of avocado, a scoop of tuna mixture, and a slice of jalapeno. Serve with soy sauce on the side.
