Old School Easy Brown Sugar Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

  • 8 tablespoons Salted butter cubed
  • 1 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.75 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 0.5 teaspoon Kosher salt
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 tablespoon Vanilla
  • 5 pieces Peaches cut into 8 wedges
  • 0.25 cup Brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup
  • 4 tablespoons Salted butter
  • 0.25 cup Maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375° F. Place cubed butter into a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  2. Melt butter in the oven for about 10 minutes.
  3. Stir together the flour, 3/4 cup brown sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl.
  4. Add milk and vanilla to the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Prepare peaches by tossing them with 1/4 cup of brown sugar and maple syrup.
  6. Layer half of the peaches over melted butter in the baking dish. Pour the batter over the peaches.
  7. Layer the remaining peaches over the batter and bake for 50-55 minutes, until set and edges are browned.
  8. Mix remaining butter and maple syrup in a pan and boil for 2 minutes.
  9. Serve cobbler warm or at room temperature, drizzled with maple butter and a scoop of ice cream if desired.
