Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 0.25 cup white sugar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1 cup mashed bananas
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 0.5 teaspoon salt
- 0.25 cup salted butter
- 1 cup white sugar
- 2 pieces eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 batch banana mixture
- 1 batch dry ingredients
- 0.5 batch batter
- 0.5 batch cinnamon and sugar mixture
- 0.5 batch batter
- 0.5 batch cinnamon and sugar mixture
- 2.5 tablespoons melted salted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter two 8 1/2 x 4 1/2 inch loaf pans or one 9 x 13 inch pan. In a bowl, mix together the cinnamon swirl ingredients except for the melted butter. Set aside.
- Mash the bananas. Add sour cream, mix and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Lightly fluff with a spoon or fork to mix. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together softened butter and white sugar. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Mix in the banana mixture on low speed.
- Add dry ingredients to the banana mixture. Fold in with a spatula, do not use a beater to avoid overmixing.
- Spread half of the batter evenly into the prepared pans. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon and sugar mixture.
- Scoop on the remaining batter and carefully spread. Sprinkle with the remaining sugar mixture. Drizzle on melted butter.
- Use a knife to go back and forth in the pan to create swirls, going all the way to the bottom.
- Bake for 43-47 minutes (32-35 minutes for a 9 x 13 inch pan) until golden brown, the top is crispy, and a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the bread.
- Remove from oven and serve warm. Enjoy!
