Best Banana Bread Donuts
Banana bread in the form of baked donuts with a sweet maple glaze and a hint of cinnamon.

Ingredients
- 0 cooking spray
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 0.5 tsp kosher salt
- 0.25 tsp baking soda
- 1 large egg
- 0.5 cup packed light brown sugar
- 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted, cooled
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup mashed banana
- 2 Tbsp sour cream
- 1.25 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 2 Tbsp maple syrup
- 2 Tbsp milk
- 0 finely chopped toasted walnuts
Instructions
- Arrange racks in upper and lower thirds of oven; preheat to 350°F. Grease 2 (6-cavity) donut pans with cooking spray.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, salt, and baking soda.
- In a large bowl, whisk egg, brown sugar, butter, and vanilla. Add banana and sour cream and whisk until combined.
- Add dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and whisk until just combined.
- Spoon batter into prepared wells, filling each to just below the center ring.
- Bake donuts until firm to the touch and edges are golden, 12 to 14 minutes.
- Transfer pans to wire racks and let cool for 5 minutes. Remove donuts from pans, transfer to wire racks, and let cool for 5 minutes more.
- In a medium bowl, combine confectioners’ sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Add more milk, 1 tsp. at a time, if needed to thin glaze to make it easily dippable.
- Dip tops of donuts into glaze, then return to wire racks.
- Top with finely chopped toasted walnuts, if using.
