Soy & Garlic Steak Rice Bowl
A fresh meal featuring soy and garlic marinated steak served with sticky rice and a spicy cucumber salad.

Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon ginger paste
- 1 teaspoon brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic cloves
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 225g steaks
- 1 whole cucumber
- 0.5 whole red onion
- 3 tablespoons kewpie mayo
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- 1 teaspoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon white sesame seeds
- 1 teaspoon black sesame seeds
- 1 serving jasmine rice
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, ginger paste, brown sugar, minced garlic, and sesame oil. Mix well.
- Add the steaks to the marinade, ensuring they are well coated. Cover with cling film and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
- Remove the steaks from the fridge 30 minutes before cooking to bring them to room temperature.
- Heat a pan to high heat for a few minutes, then reduce to medium heat and add the steaks.
- Cook the steaks for 2 minutes on each side for medium rare. Remove from the pan and let them rest for 5 minutes.
- While the steak is resting, mix all the cucumber salad ingredients together in a bowl.
- Slice the rested steak.
- Serve the sliced steak with jasmine rice and the cucumber salad.
