Hummus with Seared New York Strip
This homemade hummus is light and fluffy, made with dried garbanzo beans for an authentic Mediterranean flavor. Serve with seared New York strip steak for a high protein, low carb dinner.

Ingredients
- 2 cups dried garbanzo beans soaked overnight
- 0 water enough to cover beans
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 0.5 cup tahini
- 0.25 cup olive oil
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 0.25 cup cold water
- 0.5 cup sun-dried tomatoes
- 4 cloves roasted garlic
- 0.5 cup feta cheese crumbled
- 2 pieces New York strip steak sliced into strips
- 0 salt
- 0.5 cup pickled onions
- 0.25 cup fresh dill
- 0.5 cup feta cheese crumbled
Instructions
- Soak dried garbanzo beans in water overnight until they double in size.
- Drain the soaked beans and add them to a pot with water and baking soda. Boil until the beans are tender and easily smashed.
- Freeze the cooked beans for two hours to enhance texture.
- Blend the beans with tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, and a little cold water until smooth.
- Customize your hummus by blending in sun-dried tomatoes, roasted garlic, or feta cheese.
- Sear New York strip steaks and slice them into thin strips. Serve with the hummus.
- Serve the hummus and steak with pickled onions, fresh dill, and crumbled feta for garnish.
