Cantonese Style Shrimp Wonton

Ingredients

  • 1 pound medium shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • 2 tablespoons Shaoxing cooking wine
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 0.25 teaspoon white pepper powder
  • 12 wonton wrappers or adjust based on size
  • 0 water for boiling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix medium shrimp, eggs, Shaoxing cooking wine, corn starch, salt, sugar, sesame oil, and white pepper powder.
  2. Cook a small portion of the filling to taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  3. Wrap the dumplings in your preferred style using a wonton wrapper.
  4. Boil a pot of water and cook the dumplings until they float, about 3-5 minutes.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy with your favorite dipping sauce.
