Shawarma Quesadillas

A fusion of traditional Middle Eastern shawarma flavors with a Mexican quesadilla, perfect for a quick and delicious meal.

Shawarma Quesadillas

Ingredients

  • 500 grams chicken breast cut into small cubes or strips
  • 2 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tsp coriander
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 0.5 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp greek yogurt
  • 1 tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 clove garlic crushed
  • 1 wrap tortilla
  • 0 sliced onions
  • 0 sliced lettuce
  • 0 sumac
  • 0 mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 0 oil or ghee Use your favorite ghee or oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken, greek yogurt (2 tbsp), tomato paste, paprika, chilli powder, coriander, cumin, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well to marinate.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through.
  3. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt (2 tbsp), mayo, and crushed garlic to make the sauce.
  4. For assembling, place a tortilla on a skillet, spread some sauce, layer cooked chicken, onions, lettuce, and a sprinkle of sumac. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  5. Fold the tortilla in half and cook until the cheese melts and the tortilla is golden brown on both sides. Use oil or ghee for frying.
