Korean Ground Beef Bowls

Ingredients

  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 0.33 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 0.5 tsp ground ginger
  • 3 stalks green onions sliced
  • 1 tbsp avocado oil
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 0.25 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 cups white rice cooked
  • 0 cucumbers sliced, pickled
  • 0 carrots sliced, pickled
  • 1 avocado sliced
  • 0 sriracha to taste
  • 0 spicy mayo to taste
  • 0 sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together sesame oil, soy sauce, honey, garlic powder, onion powder, ground ginger, and sliced green onions.
  2. Heat the avocado oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and stir until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat.
  4. Stir in the prepared sauce mixture and add red pepper flakes. Allow to simmer until heated through, about 2 minutes.
  5. Serve the beef over cooked white rice with pickled cucumbers and carrots, avocado slices, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds. Top with sriracha and spicy mayo if desired.
