Hot and Spicy Bang Bang Prawns
Golden-crispy prawns tossed in a spicy and sweet bang bang sauce, garnished with sesame seeds and spring onion greens.

Ingredients
- 1 cup milk
- 2 teaspoon vinegar
- 500 grams prawns
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon pepper powder
- 5 cloves garlic chopped
- 0.75 cup flour
- 0.25 cup cornstarch
- 0.5 cup garlic breadcrumbs made from 2 slices bread with 2 garlic cloves
- 0.5 teaspoon Kashmiri Lal powder
- 0 oil for frying
- 0.5 cup mayo
- 2 tablespoon sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon Sriracha
- 2 teaspoon water
- 0 sesame seeds for garnish
- 0 spring onion greens chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare homemade buttermilk by mixing 1 cup of room temperature milk with 2 teaspoons of vinegar. Let it sit for 15 minutes.
- Marinate 500 grams of prawns in the buttermilk, 1 teaspoon salt, 1 teaspoon chilli powder, 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder, and 5 cloves of chopped garlic for 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare the coating by mixing 3/4 cup flour, 1/4 cup cornstarch, 1/2 cup garlic breadcrumbs, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri Lal powder, and 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder.
- Coat the buttermilk-soaked prawns in the prepared breadcrumb mix. Chill the coated prawns in the fridge for 10 minutes.
- Heat oil in a frying pan and fry the prawns on both sides until golden and crispy. Remove from the pan.
- For the bang bang sauce, combine 1/2 cup mayo, 2 tablespoons sweet chili sauce, 1 tablespoon Sriracha, and 2 teaspoons water.
- Toss the fried prawns with the prepared bang bang sauce until evenly coated.
- Garnish the prawns with sesame seeds and chopped spring onion greens. Serve immediately.
