Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs pork belly slab
- 1 tbsp rock sugar can substitute with granulated or brown sugar
- 0 pork belly
- 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
- 1 tbsp light soy sauce
- 4 tbsp Shaoxing wine
- 0 water
Instructions
- Cut the pork belly into 1-inch cubes.
- Heat the rock sugar in a pan until it caramelizes to a nice reddish-brown color.
- Add the pork belly cubes into the caramelized sugar and coat them evenly in the sauce.
- Add the dark soy sauce, light soy sauce, and Shaoxing wine to the pan.
- Pour enough water into the pan to cover the pork belly.
- Let the mixture boil and allow the sauce to reduce until the meat is tender.
