Steak & Asparagus with Soy Sauce

Better than takeout, this steak and asparagus dish boasts a tender steak and a delicious sauce made from chicken stock, soy sauce, and more.

Steak & Asparagus with Soy Sauce

Ingredients

  • 0.5 lb steak
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 0.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 0.5 cup chicken stock
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 0.5 tsp cornstarch
  • 0.5 lb marinated steak
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 0.5 lb asparagus
  • 1 serving prepared sauce
  • 0.5 lb cooked steak
  • 0.5 lb cooked asparagus

Instructions

  1. Cut the steak into bite-sized pieces. Marinate the steak with soy sauce, a little bit of oyster sauce, black pepper, cornstarch, baking soda, and a little bit of oil. Let it sit.
  2. Prepare the sauce by mixing chicken stock, soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and a little bit of cornstarch together until smooth.
  3. Add the marinated steak to a hot pan. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes until browned, then remove and set aside.
  4. In the same pan, add garlic and saute for 3 to 4 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Add asparagus to the pan and saute with the garlic for 3 to 4 minutes until the asparagus is tender.
  6. Add the cooked steak back into the pan. Drizzle the prepared sauce over the steak and asparagus. Saute on high heat for an additional 1 to 2 minutes.
