Ingredients
- 2.25 cups ditalini pasta
- 1 lb sausage
- 2.25 cups ditalini pasta
- 4.5 cloves garlic
- 3.5 cups broth
- 0.5 cup heavy cream
- 0 to taste pepper
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 0.33 cup Parmesan cheese
- 0 to taste parsley
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add ditalini pasta and cook until al dente, according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add 1 lb of sausage. Use a spatula to break it up as it cooks until almost fully cooked.
- Reduce the heat to medium and add the ditalini pasta and minced garlic to the skillet with the sausage. Sauté for about a minute to toast the pasta and coat it in the sausage.
- Pour in 3.5 cups of broth and bring to a simmer. Continue simmering until most of the liquid has evaporated, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- Add 1/2 cup of heavy cream to the skillet and season with pepper to taste. Continue to simmer until most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Turn off the heat. Stir in 3 tablespoons of butter and 1/3 cup of grated Parmesan cheese until fully melted and combined.
- Finely chop fresh parsley and use it to garnish the pasta before serving.
