Grandma's Reese's Bars
These bars, made by my grandmother, introduced me to one of the greatest combinations of all time: peanut butter and chocolate. Every time she made them, I would sneak into the kitchen late at night for one more bar with a glass of cold chocolate milk. These bars have been one of my favorite desserts for a long time, and I think they'll quickly become one of yours, too.

Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter generous
- 5 cups powdered sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the peanut butter, powdered sugar, brown sugar, softened butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined and smooth.
- Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
- Place 4 tablespoons butter in a medium microwaveable bowl. Microwave for 20 seconds to melt, then add the chocolate chips and stir until the chocolate is melted and creamy. If the chocolate isn't melting, microwave in 15-second intervals, stirring in between.
- Pour the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter mixture, spreading it out evenly.
- Refrigerate for 3 to 4 hours, or until the bars are set. Slice into 25 bars and enjoy!
