Prosciutto, Fig, and Brie Panini
This delightful panini combines creamy Brie, sweet figs, and salty prosciutto, creating a gourmet sandwich that is both flavorful and decadent.
Cook time: 15 minutes
Servings: 2
Ingredients
- 4 slices rustic bread like ciabatta or sourdough
- 0 butter for spreading on the bread
- 6 slices Brie cheese enough to cover the bread slices
- 6 slices prosciutto
- 2 units fresh figs sliced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 0 arugula a handful
- 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
- 0 butter remaining for the bread
- 1 tablespoon olive oil for the panini press or skillet
Instructions
- Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. This will help create a crispy, golden crust when you grill the sandwich.
- On the unbuttered side of two bread slices, layer the Brie slices evenly to cover the bread.
- Add the prosciutto slices over the Brie.
- Place the fig slices or spread the fig jam over the prosciutto.
- Drizzle a bit of honey over the figs for added sweetness.
- Top with a handful of fresh arugula.
- If using, drizzle a little balsamic glaze over the arugula for a tangy finish.
- Place the other slices of bread on top, buttered side facing out.
- Heat a panini press or a skillet over medium heat. If using a skillet, press down on the sandwich with a heavy pan or a spatula. Cook the sandwich for about 3-4 minutes on each side (or until golden brown and crispy) if using a skillet, or 5-7 minutes in a panini press. The Brie should be melted, and the bread should be crisp and golden.
- Slice the panini in half and serve immediately. Enjoy your Prosciutto, Fig, and Brie Panini!
