Pull Apart Garlic Bread

Cook time: 60 minutes

Servings: 4

Ingredients

  • 140 ml lukewarm milk
  • 15 g granulated sugar
  • 4 g instant yeast
  • 290 g all purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.25 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 large egg
  • 42 g butter
  • 75 g softened unsalted butter
  • 0.5 clove garlic
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp parsley
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 150 g mozzarella cheese
  • 1 brush melted butter
  • 1 sprinkle parsley

Instructions

  1. In a container, whisk together lukewarm milk (about 100°F), sugar, and yeast. Let sit until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, and garlic powder. Add the yeast mixture, egg, and butter. Knead for 10–15 minutes, or until the dough is smooth and passes the windowpane test. Cover and proof for 1 hour.
  3. For garlic butter filling, combine all the ingredients and mix until smooth. Set aside.
  4. Punch down the dough and roll it out into a rectangle. Spread the garlic butter filling evenly, then sprinkle with cheese.
  5. Cut into squares, stack four at a time, and place them upright in a prepared loaf pan. Repeat with the remaining dough.
  6. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes. Brush with egg wash and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (180°C) for 25–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
  7. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with parsley before serving.
