Cook time: 30 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 2 bananas
- 1 sheet parchment paper
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil or vegetable oil
- 0.25 cup crushed nuts such as almonds or peanuts, optional
- 0.25 cup shredded coconut optional
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange the banana slices on a parchment-lined tray or plate.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and coconut oil (or vegetable oil). Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.
- Using a fork or toothpick, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, covering half or the entire slice. Allow any excess chocolate to drip off.
- Before the chocolate sets, sprinkle the banana slices with crushed nuts, sprinkles, or shredded coconut if desired.
- Place the chocolate-dipped banana slices back on the parchment-lined tray. Refrigerate for about 15-20 minutes, or until the chocolate is set.
- Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
