  • 0 paper towels
  • 2 pounds chicken wings split into drumettes and flats
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 tablespoons lemon zest zest of about 2 lemons
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons lemon pepper seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 0 lemon zest optional for garnish
  • 0 lemon wedges optional for garnish
  • 0 ranch dressing for dipping
  • 0 blue cheese dressing for dipping
  • 0 celery sticks for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly oil a wire rack set over a baking sheet. If using an air fryer, preheat it to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Pat the 2 pounds of chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove any moisture. This helps them get crispy.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the chicken wings with 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil or melted butter to coat evenly.
  4. In a small bowl, mix together 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1 tablespoon of lemon zest.
  5. Sprinkle this mixture over the chicken wings, tossing them until they are evenly coated.
  6. Arrange the wings in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or wire rack. For oven-baked wings, bake for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy. For air-fried wings, arrange the wings in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 20-25 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until the wings are golden and crispy.
  7. Once the wings are done, transfer them to a large bowl. Drizzle 1 tablespoon of lemon juice over the wings, then sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of lemon pepper seasoning. Toss the wings to coat evenly.
  8. Serve the Lemon Pepper Wings hot, garnished with extra lemon zest or lemon wedges if desired. Pair with your favorite dipping sauce, like ranch or blue cheese dressing, and some celery sticks on the side.
