Ingredients

  • 2.5 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 0.5 cup butter
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1 batch garlic butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2.5 cups of flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of onion powder.
  3. Add 2 tablespoons of fresh or dried parsley and 1-2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese to the bowl.
  4. Pour in 2 cups of buttermilk and mix until just combined to form a dough.
  5. Melt 1/2 cup of butter in a saucepan over low heat.
  6. Pour the melted butter into a 9x9 inch baking dish, making sure to coat the bottom evenly.
  7. Transfer the dough to the prepared baking dish. Spread it out evenly using a spatula.
  8. Using a knife, cut the dough into 9 equal squares while still in the dish.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.
  10. While the biscuits are baking, prepare the garlic butter by melting 3 tablespoons of butter and stirring in 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 tablespoon of parsley.
  11. Once the biscuits are done, remove them from the oven and immediately brush the tops with the prepared garlic butter.
  12. Allow the biscuits to cool slightly before serving and enjoy!
