Garlic Butter Shrimp and Asparagus Pasta
This quick and easy pasta dish features juicy shrimp, tender asparagus, and a rich garlic butter sauce that coats every strand of spaghetti. It’s a light yet satisfying meal!

Ingredients
- 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
- 0 salt for boiling water
- 0.5 cup water reserved pasta water
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
- 0 salt
- 0 black pepper
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes optional, for heat
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 bunch asparagus trimmed and cut into 2-inch pieces
- 4 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tbsp butter
- 0 lemon juice juice of 1 lemon
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 0 fresh parsley chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using), and cook for 2-3 minutes until pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of butter and olive oil. Add the asparagus and cook for 3-4 minutes until tender but still crisp. Add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with asparagus. Add the remaining tablespoon of butter, lemon juice, and reserved pasta water. Toss to coat.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and toss everything together. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve hot.
