Ingredients
- 1 lb flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cups broccoli florets
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger minced
- 0.25 cup oyster sauce
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 0.5 cup beef broth
- 0 cooked white rice for serving
- 0 sesame seeds optional, for garnish
- 0 green onions optional, for garnish
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss the sliced beef with cornstarch and 2 tablespoons of soy sauce. Let it marinate for 5-10 minutes.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the broccoli florets and cook for 4-5 minutes until bright green and slightly tender. Remove the broccoli from the skillet and set aside.
- In the same skillet, add the remaining vegetable oil. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and cook for 2-3 minutes until browned and just cooked through. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and sauté for 30 seconds. Add oyster sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and beef broth, stirring until combined. Bring to a simmer and let the sauce thicken for 2 minutes.
- Return the beef and broccoli to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes until heated through. Serve over steamed rice, garnished with sesame seeds and green onions if desired.
