Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 0.5 large yellow onion
  • 1 whole jalapeño
  • 14 oz thinly shaved steak
  • 1.5 tsp salt
  • 1.5 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp onion powder
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 8 oz yellow American cheese
  • 8 oz white American cheese
  • 7 whole egg roll wrappers
  • 1 for frying avocado oil

Instructions

  1. Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. Add 1/2 large diced yellow onion and 1 diced jalapeño to the pan and sauté until softened.
  3. Add 14 oz of thinly shaved steak to the pan and cook until browned.
  4. Season the steak with 1.5 tsp of salt, 1.5 tsp of black pepper, 1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce, 2 tsp of onion powder, and 2 tsp of garlic powder. Stir well to combine.
  5. Add 8 oz of yellow American cheese and 8 oz of white American cheese to the pan, reserving 2 oz of each for wrapping. Stir until the cheese has melted and the mixture is well combined.
  6. Lay out 7 egg roll wrappers and distribute the steak and cheese mixture evenly among them. Fold the wrappers according to package instructions, using the reserved cheese to help seal the edges.
  7. Heat avocado oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F. Fry the egg rolls until golden brown and crispy, then drain on paper towels.
