Spiced Ginger Lemonade
A chilled lemonade built from a ginger-spice infusion, fresh lemon juice, and a lightly sweetened base. It is finished over ice with a bright citrus aroma and a warm spice note that stays in the background.

Cook time: 10 minutes
Servings: 4
Ingredients
- 500 ml Water divided
- 30 g Fresh ginger peeled and thinly sliced
- 1 count Cinnamon stick whole
- 4 count Whole cloves whole
- 80 g Granulated sugar none
- 250 ml Water divided
- 180 ml Fresh lemon juice strained
- 400 g Ice for serving
- 4 count Lemon slices for garnish
Instructions
- Combine 500 ml water, the sliced ginger, cinnamon stick, and cloves in a small saucepan. Bring just to a simmer over medium heat, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes. The liquid smells strongly of ginger and spice and is lightly tinted.
- Remove the pan from the heat, stir in the sugar until dissolved, then let the infusion steep for 5 minutes off heat. No sugar crystals remain and the spice flavor is clearly infused.
- Strain the infusion into a pitcher and discard the solids. Add the remaining 250 ml water and the lemon juice, then stir to combine. The pitcher holds a clear, evenly mixed lemonade base.
- Taste and chill the pitcher for at least 5 minutes, or add a handful of the ice briefly to accelerate cooling if serving immediately. Divide the remaining ice among 4 glasses and pour the lemonade over it. The drink is cold, bright, and ready to serve.
- Garnish each glass with a lemon slice and serve immediately. Each glass has a visible citrus garnish.
